Re: Bi-Focal M*g Reflector By FiveMega
FiveMega,
Hi, I am a new member but have been a reader of cpf for some time. I am wanting to make a M@G85, and I am reading that you are the guy to talk too. I don't want to take up too much of your time, but I want to verify what I need to buy from you and ask a couple ?'s.
1. I am assuming that a 3D Mag85 mod will get me in the 700-900lm range with around an hour runtime. (thinking energizer lithiums, but am open to suggestions)
2. I want to get the 9AA > 3D battery pack from you ($39) I am thinking WA1185 bulb
3. What charger would you recommend for under $30? I am working within a budget.
4. I figure I should get the Bifocal cammed reflector and mineral glass lens.
5. is the SS G4 bi-pin an easy swap? I don't mind a little soldering but I would like specifics on what to do for that swap and the benefit to the light. I am assuming better heat management.
6. Why would one use a dummy AA? would you just lower output and increase runtime?
7. I have heard mention of a 3way switch you can buy to give you a low, mid, high selection. is this possible with a MAG85? Should I consider any switch mod at all?
Thanks for your time. I would love to make a reliable thrower @ a good price. 700+ lumen at 1 hour would be great. Let me know if I am on the right track.
- Since I am newly registered I am not allowed to PM... I am not sure how to contact you directly
Thanks,
Matt Alexander
