CMG Infinity Task Light

I have three of the CMG Infinity Task AA lights. I'm wanting to get the LEDs swapped to something more modern and better CRI. Not looking to increase output, just hate the bluish tint.
Any ideas on who could tackle this?

You'd honestly be better off buying a modern-day AA flashlight.
Those old CMG's are slowly turning into collector's items, and those guys want everything original on a vintage light.

The mod is not that hard to do. I did one of mine with a Yuji 5mm led quite a few years ago.

I remember wanting one of those so bad back in the day, but they were too expensive for me. Frankly, they didn't do much more than my Mini Maglite did, so I passed 🙄

Good luck with your mod. Had a red Gerber CMG I used night fishing for hundreds of hours before losing it to Davy Jones.

Wish I still had mine. Sold it years ago because the amber LED just wasn't what I needed at the time. Never thought of modding it, the CMG Infinity was a bombproof twisty AA host.

Still got mine. Ironically know exactly where it is. Been sitting on top of a certain storage box (no battery inside) for nearly 20 years now..... In terms of output, it competes well against an inca. Maglite Solitaire with a new battery just tossed inside.

I got an amber LED one way back around their original introduction, but it slowly became less reliable over the years and probably went fully kaput ten or more years ago (always fed it fresh AA cells and never had a leak of any sort). It's actually on my desk right now so I can glance morosely at it at least once a day 😢

I had an Infinity Ultra-G from CountryComm way back when; think it was my first LED flashlight. Really liked it but lost the thing after a year or two.

There was a fix that involved laying the head face down and tapping the edges in four spots to fix connection issues. I don't know if the specifics are still on the forum somewhere or not.
I wish I would have bought several of the green LED models when they were still CMG. Gerber eventually changed the design but I prefer the original CMG lights.
