CMG Reactor is an LS

Thanks for the update Gary. Can't speak for the rest of the guys, but I'm ready to eat!

But then we ALL need to wait and see still, huh? The good news is that I've got an REI right close here.

I can`t imagine what the circuit board would do. Could it have differant power levels? Twist a little for low, more for increased brightness. That would be nice.

Maybe it could pulse the power to make the batts last longer...but wouldn`t that make it dimmer?

Why the heck did the CMG people tell you on the phone that the light was "unregulated"?
-Even a so-called "step-up" has a modest amount of regulation.
-Again....-what's that circuit for??

I would think that the most likely thing that a circuit board in a led light would do is to provide regulation. It would have to be for that or to step-up the voltage but that can be done easier without a circuit board. Now I could be wrong, hopefully one of our more knowledgable members will stumble across this and give us their opinion (Gransee, Daniel, Lambda, etc.)

I personally think that the person at CMG who said there was no regulation and no step-up converter had to be wrong on one or both counts.

Let's not forget that CMG was quite possibly the first to step-up the voltage to a led.

Hello Everyone:

What was said to us at CMG, is they
won't talk about the "Reactor" being
or not being regulated or about
the new circuit board until they
have finished with the patent filing.

Once our leader, the
"All-Seeing-All-Knowing-Sage"
up on Mt. LED Museum, has moved his
infamous "LightMobile" into position,
and puts his tiny little paws on
the CMG "Reactor" and puts out to all
of us his peral words of lite, we will
then know.

I still think I am correct and would
like all of the flashaholics to get
their forks and knifes ready for some
big word eating.

With all the pieces of news we are
receving, all of you will - I hope
agree with us that this light is :

SMMMMMMMOKIN'

We should be receiving our shipment
soon. Can't wait to play with this
light in the warehouse.

By the way, for a rechargeable Xenon
gas lamp operated flashlight ---

Don't buy the Pelican Black Knight
M11 or smaller M9 Rechargeable
(M9 is about 20% brighter then the
stinger).
The M11 is a real tummy burner.

If you dare to purchase this light,
you will have your mind blown away
by the light and will probably
never say the words of those other
flashlights again.

I must go now and fall asleep in the
washroom. It's the only place where
I know what I'm doing.

You know... now that I once again possess a working O'scope, I can easily tell if the Reactor is inverted or direct. I should be getting one quite soon, and I'll see to it that this is the first test I run on it.
