Hopefully these come thru. I had to use a flash as the natural lighting was crappy today (raining most of the time). I need some advice on to take beam shots. No matter what I tried they came out blotchy as opposed to seeing the luxeon beam characteristics that were so obvious to the naked eye. Color redition was fairly accurate though.

All with fresh batteries, AA alkalines in the Arc LS and Reactor and of course CR123s in the X5.

Can you tell by this picture whether it's the old or new style optics?

The top ring near the lens spins around but doesn't come off and I can't see what purpose it serves. A good idea to put a plastic covering over the lens I think. Don't know how user replaceable that would be.

Just a shot to compare the lights for size. Again I apologize for the poor lighting conditions. Camera used in all shots is Nikon CP990.

Boy, talk about pea soup.....

Gary, very nice pictures. Like I said, if you can email, might as well post.

Oh, back to the reactor. Man alive, the head sure is big! Wonder what is inside?

Now I'm kicking myself for paying extra dollars to have one shipped overnight. From the pics, like some else said, I rather have a Lambda LI or Pill

Wait a minute, all the previous pics of the Inova made it look like it was substantially -- 20% or so, say -- less bright than the 2AA Arc LS. Your pic makes it look about as bright, but a different hue. What's the deal? (sorry to take us off topic from the Reactor).

From shining them all on the wall, the Inova did appear to be close in brightness to the other lights but upon shining it on real items, the luxeon models are noticably brighter and chase more shadows away then the Inova.

How comne I'm not seeing the pictures?
I just get the dreaded red "x" inside the little white box. Same with whatever you posted in the cafe the other night. :/

Sometimes if you right click on the red X and then choose the "show picture" option, it will come thru. I have also found that I have to sometimes turn off my firewall program, Norton Internet Security in able to view pictures. The pictures originate from the Yahoo user photo site.

Tried the right-clicking thing already.
Don't have a firewall to turn off.

Hmmm... maybe this computer is worse off than I thought. Glad I'm gettin' a Dell, dude!

Yahoo Fotos (us.f1.yahoofs....) do not allow external hotlinking. I see the evil red X of death here too.
Why do the rest of you see them? Have me and Craig dome somet wrong to Yahoo? Asides from me often calling their free web site hosting "Geoshitties Web Shites", that is ......

Please e-mither them over this way (torchreviews(at)ntlworld(dot)com). I`ll plonk them on the Torch Reviews Site server (which I pay for) and post here. If those don`t work, Tripod are in serious trouble....

Be nice to see!

I just went to my second computer and it is showing red X's as well. This one is still showing the pictures but maybe it's just showing them from cache memory. At any rate, I emailed the pictures to Chris's site.

Any recommendations on free photo sites that allow external hotlinking?

"show picture" works for me..

Doesn't work for me.
Neither does harvesting the URL out of the message and punching that directly in the Go To window.

Sorry Craig

Thanks Chris,

They come thru fine on computer number two so I'm sure they're OK. I'm trying to learn more about my free web/file space included in my Verizon DSL account. If I can figure it out then I'll try posting and hotlinking pictures from there.

That CMG head reminds me of the disproportionately-shaped Legend LX head!

I agree. They are both a bit top heavy to hold but the Lengend LX is worse. Feels like they put weights in the head on that light.
