I have one of these on the way from CNI. It will probably have an output above half a watt at 980nm. It's the size of a Leadlight and runs on 2 AAA batteries. This is a special production unit. I originally ordered it with the batch of 20 PGL-III's that I had to cancel, but I agreed to pay for this and accept it since they made it special. The thing is, I don't want to turn it on because of the extreme danger of operating a high power IR laser. Does anyone want to trade anything for it? Flashlight, lasers, or other interesting electronics? I'm not looking to get a lot for it, I just want to get rid of it since I have no use for it. I know some people here were looking to build high power IR lasers. PLEASE be aware of the danger of this thing before you even make an offer. Great for popping balloons in an environment where nobody is looking or everyone is wearing protective goggles. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hmm, I've got a red 632nm laser diode that still works if you hook it up to a power supply of batteries or anything with the usual 3 volts. It works great, but I have no real use for it because I now got my greenie. I doubt you want to trade that ir laser for that though....

Well I don't think I could trust myself with what is probably 600mw+ of IR. I would need IR sensitive glasses. The idea of confusing everyone with popping the balloons makes for a fun idea though lol.
