CNI 808nm 3W IR laser

Probably an ok laser. Snoctony sells some decent stuff. not always but usually. If you have a little time and some knowledge you could build something like this easily enough and probably a heck of a lot cheaper than what he's selling. Just a basic 808nm c-mount laser diode in a module with TEC. Shouldn't be hard to make at all!

Kenom,
where is a good source to get the instructions and parts? How much would the approximate price be?

it's hard to explain. I would take the optics and such from a green module, and pull everything but the c-mount out and then find a TTL and analogue driver. Use one single colimating lens to focus it and then mount it on a TEC or make sure the one I purchase has a TEC. You can find a green for a $100-$300 depending Then buy yourself a 3W c-mount laser diode.

What do you want to do with an IR laser? Kenom is right; butcher a green. The one you are looking at is just a green without the optics... to make it a green.

Unfortunately, I don't have the know-how to do it myself. Who does jobs of this kind here on this forum (someone pretty good at it of course)?

I personally wouldn't mess with 808nm, stick to visible wavelengths instead of NIR.
