Hello everyone, it's been a long time since I wanted to modify a flashlight. I ended up buying a coast, XP40 rechargeable and it has a max output of 8000 lumens. It has a fairly big COBLED in it. I want to get the lens apart because I ended up cracking the plastic lens from too much heat in front of it. I want to replace it with a glass one, but I don't know how to get The lens apart. I assume it's helped together with some sort of Loctite or sealant but I also don't want to clamp it with pliers and scratch the hell out of it.
Does anybody have any ideas on how to get these things open without damaging? I really want to see how well it does with the lens that could focus the beam a little nicer. Right now if I get dark paper close enough, it can smoke it, but it won't catch on fire.
