Ok Craig, what are the holiday and secret modes, and how do you access them
smile.gif
?!?! So, what do you think of theses things? I like the idea of the washer, but how bright is it? I guess I have to wait and see..... I noticed that there is an REI not to far from me, and they have the light wand, but only in red. No other C.K. products around that I know of... do you know where I can get the light wand, and the "washer" from? the 'washer' sounds like the best deal... NO BATTERIES! Get a few of those, plug them in around the house, have some friends over, play the appropriate music, and have a little rave
wink.gif
! And of course have a couple of the light wands to put on your 'best girls'

! Hehe...

I`m not Craig (though it`s getting kind of hard to tell who is who these days

) but I have a Lightwand too and I know those modes. Thing is, do I post here and spoil the surprise for all future Wand owners? Or do I keep quiet and let you all discover for yourself? The modes aren`t hard to find, and I wasn`t planning on pointing them out in my review so I reckon for now, I`m not talking

Apparently though, there is a third "secret mode"- is that something I don`t have in my Wand? Or is it the auto-off-defeating mode? I don`t mind disclosing that one cos it`s handy to know- just hold in the button for about 10 seconds when it`s off. After that period it will light up blue, where you can then let go and it won`t turn off until you want it to, or the battery runs out. Cycling through the modes back to off restores auto-off ready for its next activation.

That's one reason I didn't want to post them on my review - and I'm very hesitant to pist them here for the same reason.

The 3rd "secret" mode is found in the same location as the other two, and only causes the wand or other CK product to burn all of its LEDs at once and gives you an approximation of white. More like a cyan color, since these devices seem to run a bit short on red.

The Auto-Off cancel is *not* one of the hidden modes; as they openly tell you how to do it.

Awwww....mine doesn`t do that one. Must only be on all the very latest ones- therefore mine must have been older stock.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LightWands are available on REI.com, Chiasso.com, and the whole product line
will be available on Amazon.com/ToysR Us .com in about 2-3 weeks.

We are currently securing placement in retailers such as Spencer Gifts, Toys
R Us, Linen's N Things, REI, Chiasso, etc., but you will find them faster on
line.

Thanks!

Or like me, a prototype.
I got to see these things last year in their prototype stage, and helped to iron out some of the bugs. (hey, that's what I do!).

When did you get your Lightwand?

Doug , neet thing to do at a party with music, you might enjoy this one, take an old speaker that you dont give a crud about, paste a mirror on the side of the cone using duct tape, then hit this mirror with a lazer pointer or even a lensed led (sharp point)
then play music loud through the speaker, shining the reflection of the bouncing mirror lazer pointer up to the ceiling.
Cheap party tricks

after you play around with it and get it tuned, but of course right before the party get ahold of Gary Wrights "Dream Weaver" song
for some reason this song is Perfect for this cheap trick.

now you lay down on the floor and look at the ceiling with the lights off, Imagine the possibilities :)

I used to do this using a flashlight bulb focussed to a point with a LONG focal length lens - before I got my first laser in 1979 or so.

Dream Weaver works well, but try putting Pink Floyd "The Wall" in and letting it run.
Some of the songs on this tape (or record, or CD...) really make some wild patterns.

I got it online from Firebox a few weeks ago- whatever the date is on its review page, minus about 3 days and that`s when it turned up here. Can`t remember offhand. It should be new stock, it does the auto-off thing, but there`s no all-leds-on mode that I can find

Oh well....I still have to get the little baby one, maybe that one will do it...
