Close Think its from ANSI American National Standards Institute, continues with the standard R`n`R Parabolic Aluminised Reflector, PAR, lamps as well PAR 64, erm 8 inch,PAR 56, er, 7 inch etc.Continues with LEDS as well T1, 1/8 inch or 3mm and T1 3/4 er, 5mm

Don`t get me started on the ANSI three letter lamp codes that make no sense...

Also on a similar topic, the Sauce Lightwand is on sale at Target for 9.99 which does a lot of the color wash techniques and flash effects, but only using 3 leds.
Not a bad deal.

Absolutely nothing to do with me, but thought it might be of interest to people here, from the ever helpful Clive Mitchell on sci.engr.lighting:

I've just put a stonker of a project on my website for you guys and gals
to enjoy. Namely, the full software, copper foils and layout of some
RGB colour mixing LED panels that can be fitted into most MR16
lampholders (the little 2" halogen spotlight lampholders).

(MR16 = Metallised Reflector - 16 eighths of an inch in diameter)

While not competing with the commercial designs that have every square
millimetre of the PCB space stuffed with RGB LED's being over-run for
maximum output, my designs are a lot (A LOT!!!) cheaper to build and are
ideal for home use.

Please note that I have put the designs up for personal use only and
they may not be used for a commercial application... Unless of course
you want to give me a cut.

The controller is a simple stand alone unit that is designed for ease of
building and installation, being very much a fit-and-forget type of
thing. I've also included the foils and component layout for a little
three LED "colour wheel" that uses the same software and can be used for
ornamental and general colour changing fun applications.

The design is an update of an early LED colour mixing system I designed
and built when the first overpriced and under-lumen'd silicon carbide
blue LED's were made available. Does this make me one of the pioneers
of LED colour mixing technology?

Let me know what you think of the design and the way I've presented it
on my website. I'm open to any feedback.
