I just received from DX an MTE SSC P7-C 5-Mode light (sku 12060). For the price it is a very nice build quality and very bright (although certainly not the 900 lumens claimed and it does not appear to be as bright as the Fenix TK40). During operation on high mode it gets quite hot so I decided to do some temperature measurements. (It would make a good hand warmer in winter.) For my tests I used a brand new and freshly charged Trustfire 18650 also from DX (sku 20392).
Visually, the light seemed to drop out of regulation at around 60 minutes and I terminated the test shortly after that as I did not want to over-discharge the cell.
The temperature was measured with an infra-red thermometer in the following locations: (a) looking into the reflector and locating the hottest spot; (b) on the outside of the case on the angled part corresponding to the location of the reflector; (c) on the flat part in the middle of the case where the name is printed and (d) about 2cm from the tail end of the light.
The ambient temperature was 20C.
Results:
Temperature in Centigrade.

66 35.5 35.5 35.0 34.5 Off
At the end of the test the cell measured 3.42V.
It is clear that, at least in this sample, that the heatsinking appears to be very good and is transferred all through the body.
Overall, I think it is a very nice light, a useful hand warmer and good value for money.
