These lights seem pretty similar. Most of them even have the same bulb.

I was wondering if people who have the following lights could compare and note the differences.

Thanks,

Well, I have a UK 2L and just impulse purchased a PT Tec 40 (it was on the shelf saying... try me!).

Initial impression is the waterproofing mechanisms on the UK 2L is MUCH better.

The O rings on the UK 2L are much beefier. The UK has two O rings where the PT only has one.

The web site says the PT is waterproof to 2000 ft. which sounds rather optimistic to say the least.

The PT does look brighter but I can't tell by how much.

The PT has a more narrow and a better beam, of course it is easy to have a good beam when it is super tight.

So far I think the UK 2L is a better light because of it's construction. I'd rather the light stay waterproof and prefer a wider beam. However, the beam quality is better on the PT.

(BTW, the PT has the dimpled reflector)

BTW, here are the O rings of the PT Tec 40 vs. the UK 2L:

Thanks Brightnorm. Good stuff.

I find it curious tho that no one questions the O ring on the Tec 40 vs the UK 2L.

I assume the UK 4AA has the same O rings as the 2L?

If so, what is the difference between the 4AA and the Q40?! Why have two lights almost the same?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Well, I only had the pair for a day. The Q40 was dropped into the mail this morning and the 2L was sold yesterday. BUT, the Q40 appears to have only ONE O-ring if I recall correctly.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">4AA is an industrial light with a safety pressure relief valve and has more industrial/safety ratings than the Q40 but is not good to the depth that the Q40 is rated to.

Also available in different colors and the Q40 comes with a mask strap. The 4AA is slightly longer.

All three use the same lamp assembly.

Cheers,

Richard

Hey Rich, I think you, uh, need more lights for inside your car (heh heh)...
