Re: Attn: READ ME

Nevermind, my mistake! Assumed there as an O ring at the rear surrounding the clicky switch like the mcgizmos!

Mahalo for the thread though! Very informative

Re: Attn: READ ME

Made some changes and updated post #1 and #2.

Also, Knife Kits' (pocket clip screws) server is down. Not sure if it's permanent or not.

I only recently (last few days) bought the screws. It was up. Got confirmation emails too. I hope this isn't a sign of something more ominous. Can they be bought elsewhere?

Re: Attn: READ ME

The order got shipped with tracking within 24 hours. So I'm gonna assume this is just server specific.

Re: Attn: READ ME

I've sent a follow up email. My tracking order has shown no updates since the purchase date aside from the creation of the shipping label. I'm concerned.

Re: Attn: READ ME

Just checked and the website is back up. I wasn't trying to cause panic. It seems that it was only down temporarily. Hope you get your order soon.

Re: Attn: READ ME

Ended up arriving yesterday before I got home. I didn't hesitate to swap them on! 😁 Not sure if anyone has bought them for their own Tri yet but they do require some shortening. I used a bench grinder to incrementally trim them down. (titanium sparks are so white and pretty BTW!)

Michael from KnifeKits was also quick to email me a response. Will be buying again in the future. I bought 4 screws anyway to make the shipping more worth it.

also, another note for the first post. The Tri engines that use the L333 Lux-RC board appear to be capable of handing 1 or 2 LiIon cells....

Yes, the 333 could handle up to 9.5Vf IIRC. There was never a datasheet and I don't remember exact numbers. I have the sheets for the L33.2, 334, and 371 if you're interested.

I haven't posted driver-related info simply because almost any board <20mm can be used in the Tri-EDC. There are a half dozen or so driver variations that I'm aware of...

It came up in another thread that Precisionworks can bore Mac's for 18mm cells. I already knew about this but for some reason or another it didn't make it into my guide :ohgeez:Now go get your 16mm lights bored for maximum power output

I have a early Aluminum EDC that uses a 16340 and the body dimensions are slightly smaller. If I got it bored to 18.5mm which is what the later Mac's are, the minimum wall thickness would be 1.2mm in the grooves. Not sure if I'd feel comfortable with that wall thickness in Aluminum... at least for a EDC Carry Light....

Re: Attn: READ ME

Thanks. Added that plus some other things to post #1.

Prometheus Lights has a new 17mm driver called the Icarus. It may be worth considering despite the cost.

Anyone know the name or where to get the straight outer wall reflector that's in the XML-EDC or SST-50 EDC? thanks!

Says somewhere MCR20 but other references to that reflector have a stepped outer wall

Re: Attn: READ ME

If anyone is looking for ti clip screws, they can be found here:

http://www.lunsfordracing.com/mm5/m...&Product_Code=A4B0187&Category_Code=STDBUTTON

These are the right size and shouldn't need to be cut down.

I should add that a Thorp 1/16" hex driver is a must with removing clip screws. You are likely to strip many a head by using a standard hex wrench (I learned the hard way!). They are around $10 - $15 and it's worth the investment. Don't even be tempted to take your standard hex wrench set out of your tool box...trust me.

Re: Attn: READ ME

Note: This item is out of production (no longer made):

Replacement parts*

I have been in contact with Esslinger and there are 2 gaskets that are close to the 107 size (20.00mm x 21.25mm). The first is 20.40mm x 21.50mm (stock #84.315-20) and the second is 20.00mm x 21.60mm (stock #84.315-21). As of this writing, I'm not sure of how either of these will fit yet. I'm going to order them and test them out to see which would be the most appropriate replacement. Also, neither of these stock numbers are listed on the website yet, they are too new.

If anyone has any info on #107 remaining stock anywhere, please advise. I will report back with what I find out on the newer versions and I will also be testing a current version #137 (20.00mm x 21.50mm).

Re: Attn: READ ME

Yea I meant to say something about this when I contacted them a few months ago and they told me they were no longer making them. I ordered some from here and they work fine. #107 Band Width .62 mm, Inside Diameter 20 mm, Outside Diameter 21.25 mm

http://www.ofrei.com/page_107.html

They do have a $15 minimum order though

Nice! Thanks for the info! I ordered the other parts to check as well just in case it ever comes to it.
