BEAT THAT !!!!!!!

I think God has got us beat on this one people. He's got a flashlight brighter than anthing we've got, and it lasts for about 12 hours at a time.

zerox, i don't think anything will beat a handheld car headlight as of yet. Maybe Mr Ted Bear can input on this thread. I think he has the protype McCulloch X990 which is a 35 watt HID that can be focussed down to a very narrow beam. I think THAT would beat anything on the market when it comes out. It sure would beat the hell out of my wallet too.

BTW, my brightest light would be the LSI 1 million candlepower spotlight. It might not beat your 3 million CP spotlight, but i will outrun you by about 25 minutes. And trust me, that'll make a world of difference. But since were talkin about sheer brightness....so far you're winning.

Surefire M6 with the 500 Lumen bulb. Maybe not as bright as yours but I can put mine in my pocket.

HID rechargable light for $499 that home depot is supposed to carry. Comparison photos are increadible.

We're tied. I have the same 3M CP spotlight. Plus a 2M CP Ultra Sport Spot. I'll have to take my SF 12PT and see how that compares to the Vectors.

I also think Mr. Ted Bear has us all beat with the X990. But there's this guy in Orlando with a spotlight he pulls behind his truck...

I just got my x990 and it is definitely brighter than the Vector which I also own. Really kicks the Surefire Millenium M6 and 12ZM that I own. I think it is pretty comparable to the BEAST.

My favorite camping trick has been blowing away those other Scoutmasters who show up with a "2 million candlepower" 40$ Chinese cheapy with my M6. Now, they are in real trouble.

If only I had some of the REALLY big guns in hand.

6 1000W lightheads mounted together. I need a diesel to run it, but I would bet it is the brightest.

Ahem.... the correct price for CPF members is $460 direct from McCulloch which includes shipping and handling. The MSRP is $499, and to my knowledge, Home Depot does not have this in their product lineup.

Here are my best & brightest...

Brightest light of any kind: UK Light Cannon 100 HID.
Brightest incandescent: 15W Halogen VistaLite bike light.
Brightest LED (by total emitted flux): Trek 6000 EX60.
Brightest LED (by spot illuminance): Lambda Illuminator LS.

12V 50W IRC MR16 Halogen overdriven
to 13.5V in Mag 2D case.

Using Sanyo 1000mAh NiCs. Run time (intermittant) is about 10-15 minutes.

It got so hot the other night, the plastic lamp cover started to buble in the centre. I think I better take it out :). The bezel was too hot to touch.

These NiCDs can sure whip up some current. I have a charge jack at the back where I can suck off more current. Just to test it, I put in a mini(spec?) Osram Decostar 20W 38d lamp and turned both on. Left it in for about 20-30 seconds and both the 50W beam and 20W beam refused to fade. So they were pulling over 70W with the NiCDs still going strong!

I'm thinking of using it to jump start my car next time the battery goes flat. :)

I also have a Vector 3mil. Good for getting a suntan.

That's my brightest unless you wanna count my car. It has 4 55w halogen H-3, 2 50w halogen 899's, 2 55/65w halogen 9007's, and 2 8/27w xenon/halogen 3157's (yes, my signals blink at 27w!)
