I bought a 15w handheld spotlight (1 million candle power) at radioshack for $6.99. It has a H3 15w bulb and a 2.3Ah 6v SLA battery, I thought it could be easily modable but I am haveing second thoughts.

I found this bulb: http://www.genesislamp.com/h36vauhaheli.html
and I thought it might work but it would be pulling 4Cs from my battery. First is this safe? second, is it worth it? please let me know your thought on this. Thanks

UPDATE: I just ordered a 4.5 amp battery to replace the dinky 2.3amp one. This should lower the draw to just over 2 Cs. Does this work?

Sure but why not just mod it to HID and go buck wild? Should get more run time as well since the draw will be lower once it warms up.

bah, never a show stopper. As others have done before, I strapped it to the underside of the battery compartment. Its tied in place with wire ties now but I want to go with a nylon strap.

I got the battery and the bulb and put it in. Very bright with great throw, I might do some beamshots in the next week.
