Convoy flashlight opinions?

Both type work in mine.
Was that one to me? So I can put flat-top Molicel P42A's in it, like this one

...and it will guaranteed work in a Convoy 3X21?

I would like to know for sure before buying something of that model, as I almost made that mistake with my Sofirn Q8+.
It wasn't specifically mentioned anywhere obvious, at least at the time of purchase, that the Q8+ need button-top cells. And in the case of 3X21, I can (surprisingly) get Molicel P42A's (or Samsung 40T's) cheaper locally compared to the cost of buying batteries included with the light.

Could you post a picture of the batteries that light uses? Are they flat-top or button-top?

It got me interested in a couple 3X21[X]
Both flat-top and button-top can be used. For your reference.

Thank you very much for the pictures! ❤️

The Sofirn Q8+ just have a flat contact ring underneath the LED-assembly, which requires button-tops for proper contact. If Convoy includes an adapter bracket in all of their 3X21-models, like you depicted here, both types will work.

...Sofirn, are you taking notes?

Damn, now I may need to add several 3X21 Convoys to my 2025 wishlist. Am looking at both the 3X21A and -E models.

Has that happened before? And if so, is it likely it will come back?
Was hoping to snag one, with 519A + 2700K + 60degree bead TIR.

EDIT:
There's no rush. I got at least an Emisar order, plus another Convoy order, before the 3X21E is a serious consideration.
So if it's not back by March-April, maybe I'll send Simon a message.

I'm not sure if he's discontinued it or just ran short of units on hand ..?..

I just sent him a note asking about other bits that he doesn't have on the sight anymore.
I want to (re)build one that was DOA. He replaced it with another and it works fine.
But now I have this 'dead' one that I can probably rebuild.

But I also want some other bits that he no longer has listed...so I asked anyway.

He's usually pretty good at getting back quickly. It is the weekend and they are halfway around the world from here so...

I just thought of a couple of more Qs to ask him once he does get back with me. I'll post here was he says.

Stand by ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

Guessing the most likely reason reared its ugly head.... Reliability issues with the latest batch received. Simon looked at that batch, wasn't happy with what he saw, and thus pulled the availability from his site.

Yes, I blame this one on me. I figured he was all ready for everything since now is morning of the 8th in China, and I jumped the gun. Not a huge deal, I can wait and it's an easy fix anyway.

Maybe, maybe not. He didn't de-list the T7 despite having issues with a batch of those, but I can see it being faster to pull down the 3x21E from the listing if it was a faster procedure in the rush to close up shop and leave for CNY.

I bought my Acebeam L35 2.0 from a local official dealer, you get top quality from Acebeam, and good CS from an official dealer in your own country.

Convoy are excellent, but they lack finesse e.g. type II anodising, lower water sealing and a more functional and less stylish design. The Convoy M21F is comparable to the Acebeam L35 2.0. I’ve had one Fenix light, and two Sunwayman lights fail.

Sadly almost all lights are from China thanks to cheap labour, cheap rent, cheap machine tools and most probably unfair state subsidies.

I'm hoping he gets back to you soon, both out of curiosity and because I myself need something from him relative to an order I placed.
I had a note from him this morning. I only asked him about my own purchases. He's never left me hanging and wondering about anything I've asked him.
He cleared up a Q I had, and I made the buy. Bada bing bada boom Bob's your uncle.

Yeah, he got back to me as well. I'm waiting for his store at Ali to return officially from vacation, whereupon the item will be restocked.
