Copper Bodied LEP Light

No such thing as a Cu LEP to the best of my knowledge, nor do I imagine there is likely to be.

However, how does a solid copper WildTrail WT90 SBT90.2 throw monster interest you?
5,500 max lumen, 1 Mcd (2000 meters throw)
About $430. That's LEP territory range. A collector's jewel of exquisite CNC machining.
You mean one like this? Yes that is my name engraved on the first one made. This light allowed me to add WildTrail as the 109th maker/manufacturer that I have at least one red copper (or white copper, Mokume Gane or superconductor and in a pinch CU/TI) light from.

You are right, the throw is amazing! And it is a Monster with its 100mm bezel, 2 x 21700 batteries and 4.2 POUNDS!

As you'll note above, I am a Copperholic and also have copper watches, knives, pens, fidget things, etc. So I was interested in also getting a copper LEP. Hence my post.

Oh, and it's not my longest copper light (or laser) and a copper light by Gyorgy for size comparison.

Q: How about brass?
Wouldnt that offer the same pros,
while adding better "protection" vs. stain and such?
(con: also too heavy and too expensive, like copper)

I have a few watches in brass, they age nicely.
Never thought of copper for...

There was a custom light builder named Tofty who was like a UK equivalent of Don McLeish. He made some really over the top custom designs with pure silver and magnesium. He was prototyping a 14500/AA pure tungsten light but it was far too expensive to produce or sell at any reasonable price so it never sold. He then suddenly changed careers and completely disappeared from the flashlight world. That was over 11 years ago so its ancient history.

It spawned a BLF thread on the topic:

FWIW, the first copper LEP in the wild is on it's way to me from Nealsgadgets - and yes as you may guess, it is made in China. I have one copper LED light from 116 different makers - and soon ONE LEP:)

FWIW #2 This is the Monster - aka WildTrail Jacky's first ever fully copper version of his WT-90. Note the inscription CNC'd into the band just below the side switch:)

Congratulations Dennis!

You have accomplished another Grail acquisition. Between your inbound LEP and the Golden Orb you now have two one-of-a-kind in the world treasures. Enjoy them all in good health!

No, copper dissipates heat way better than bronze. Better than aluminum even, just a lot heavier. Copper is the way to go for exotic.

I was looking at buying the LEP copper from Nealsgadgets. How do you like it?

Wish there were a variety of good copper LEP offerings out there.
