I was out shopping yesterday, and decided to get some cord to make some simple lanyards with. I found some fairly nice soft 3mm white cord which seemed just right, so I got a few metres of it. At the time, I noticed that it had some fine print on the reel, but didn't really worry about it. (in Japanese, of course..)

Anyway, got it home, and last night just as I was turning out the lights to go to bed - I saw that the cord was glowing!!
It hit me then that the 'fine print' must have been that it was glow in the dark stuff.
I thought it seemed just a little more expensive than normal, but didn't really think about it at the time.

In normal light, it just looks and feels like normal white cord, but in the dark! Very cool. I charged it up with my UV Photon, and wow! Glows very brightly.

I'm going back to get some more today - they had the same stuff in 5mm too...

Cool, Sounds like "group buy" time again.

Sounds a lot nicer for light lanyards than having to braid that cheap GITD plastic lace / braiding stuff I've been using.

Heck, I can think of dozens of uses for it.

What kind of texture / strength is it? Like parachute cord? That would be great.

TADGEAR has it...great stuff...it lasts for hours on an incandescent charge (my night table light)...I have lanyarded everything with it

COOL! I am on a Glow kick lately...I have outfitted all my lights with some kind of glow in the dark tape...

I was going to get some TripTease line to make Lanyards (Comes out to about $0.30/foot if you can get it at REI) but this might be better...how much is it and where'd you get it, craft store...hardware store?? If I had to order some online I would but if I could buy it in a store even better...

TADGEAR.COM, bro...now where did you get the GITD tape? how does it work?

do you guys use the tabs? or is there a special knot you can tie to keep the string from comeing loose. I'm going to put the string on my cell phone and most of my lights.
