CPF – Description and \"mission statement\"

People ask me: "What the h@ll is CandlePowerForums?" I reworked this description and "mission statement" from earlier posts. Input welcome.

CPF - Description and mission statement

CandlePowerForums is the internet’s largest forum devoted to high performance portable light instruments. We discuss, purchase, test and post reviews and evaluations of a large variety of flashlights from many makers. We also work with manufacturers in the development of new and improved lights. Membership includes manufacturers and dealers as well as professionals and specialists in the fields of engineering and law enforcement in addition to enthusiasts from all walks of life. Some of our members design new lights and modify existing models to produce instruments whose performance is commercially unequalled. Some of these are individually created while others have gone into production. We are very interested in evaluating new and /or innovative lights. Several of our members are highly respected reviewers whose expertise and critical analyses are relied upon by manufacturers and professionals in the field as well as civilian purchasers.

Re: CPF ? Description and

I was thinking about if some guy had no idea what CPF was, how would he figure out? Is there any way we can make a small link on the front page explaining what CPF is? (On the blank front front page)

Re: CPF ? Description and

I believe that the most succint description may be a "bunch of flashlight geeks".

Great idea loggy. I think that brigtnorm's statement should be put on the front front page, with his permission of course.

Re: CPF ? Description and

When I tell someone about an exchange of posts, I refer to it as a converstion with my flashlight friends.

Re: CPF ? Description and

I always refer to you all as "My flashlight guys"... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinser2.gif

This won't be put up on the front page but it will be put up. Just give me some time. I'm working on a couple other things right now that need to take priority.

Thanks guys... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I also still like to see an accepted/approved business card with the CPF logo.

I meet so many folks, who try and write down the URL on a napkin, or piece of scrap paper...I'd just like to hand them a generic CPF card...perhaps a mini-mission statement could exist on the back?

Re: CPF – Description and

I really like your definition, brightnorm. That pretty much sums it all up /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

A few of us have made up our own. I only use mine (along with printed-out dealer pages) if airport security is suspicious about all the lights I travel with. So far I've only shown it once and it definitely didn't hurt though I can't say for certain that it actually helped.

Re: CPF – Description and

Anyone who has desigined their own CPF card (Brightnorm...others?)...I may have seen one or two "around the Forums", but without a drastic search...any chance of posting those in this thread? Thanks!
