Hi. I ordered some CR123A Li-Ion rechargables (3V) from fifthunit but got some RCR123 batteries ( these fit in the 7W flashlight i also ordered)

Are CR123A and RCR123 the same things ???

CR123s are normal lithium batteries rated at 3V and RCR123 are rechargeable Lithium Ions in 123 size. So they are the same shape but different capacity and voltage. You can get RCR123s with built in circuitry so they operate at 3V ish.

Be careful of running 3.7V RCR123s in a LED light. Depending on the light, the circuit may not like the extra voltage.

thx for the answer. I am never gonna be using 3.7V because i am willing to give up some brightness for a lnger lifetime.
