I'm feeling a not entirely rational need to stock up on food for my new toy (cr2 ion). Primary batteries.

cr2 batteries are available locally, but this price hurts. Ooof. Something like $12-14 for a two-pack of the things. They are substantially cheaper online. Are there significant differences among the brands as far as capacity and shelf-life? I don't want to skimp on quality, these may well rest in my closet for years. The ion came with a battery station cell that flickered on high, while an energizer cr2 worked fine.

I'm leaning towards the GE/Sanyos as they appear to be cheapest. However if these are not up to snuff I'll stick with duracall/energizer.

Any reason to avoid 'bulk' batteries as opposed to 'carded' ??
