Candle Power Flashlight Forum

Help Support CPF:

All I can say is that parts are on order.

When they are built and ready to ship, I will let everyone know.

I have made several improvements in design and manufacturability.

I have made several improvements in design and manufacturability.
In the words of Dieter (Mike Myers), host of Sprockets on Saturday Night Live some years back, "This post pulls down my pants and taunts me."

Couldn't you have waited to announce the improvements on the next batch until after I'd received mine from the current batch?

Perhaps you are not merely "Lord Moddoo" but "Lord Moddoo of Mordor."

Nasty Hobbitsez. He upstages The Precious.
Wring his tricksy little neck we will. (gollum, gollum)
Gets me in trouble with Master for spending more money.

I'm getting in line in case there is a line.

Is there a line?

I appreciate everyones enthusiasm.

I am collaborating with ElectronGuru on several of "our" projects.

He will be handling the sales and distribution of these triples.

If he chooses to honor some sort of list, or line, that is fine with me.

I am too busy to keep track of these things, and am devoting my time to design, manufacture, and test several new products.

This should be a positive for everyone.

Please feel free to announce your interest here. It will help me gauge quantities needed for future run(s)

Technobill,
You were lucky enough to order one of these multi cell capable triples.
You were unlucky enough to order something that has been a PITA for me to build. I have a few of the SOB (appropriately named) triples to finish up. Yours will be on the way shortly.

If you desire, you could sell yours for a single cell variety in the "new chassis"

Currently, I will only be offering the 3.6V-6V, single, or 3-mode driver models.

I will continue to search for other better drivers for higher voltages.

I am interested in one of these triplple 3 mode drop-ins.

1)NO problem on the time frame. Take your time! This one is a "keeper", "collectible of unobtanium" status. I've been poring over body extension options assiduously.

2)Sell The Precious? Aghhhhh.... Smeagol covers his ears and howls... :duck:Will kindly ask Master if we can sell one of our kidneys for next version. Master loves us, She wants us to have shiny things (gollum, gollum). Maybe Master lets us sell kidneys of AIG Exectutives... we takes their kidneys while they sleep. Shhh..... secret...:sssh:

Smeagol sees you have pet spider. Smeagol goes to collect lots of tasty, juicy, bugs for Lord Moddoo's spider.

i have a question on the drivers, what happens when batteries go below the voltage range of the drop in?, does it go DD or turns off?

i find it very useful on the malkoff m60 that it goes DD, that way i can work on low levels with my McE2S.

EDIT FOR CLARITY:
THE EXAMPLE BELOW IS BASED ON THE AMC7135 BASED DRIVER.
THIS DRIVER IS RATED AT 3.7V TO 6V.
USING A SINGLE RECHARGEABLE CELL, THE DROP-IN WILL OPERATE AT FULL OUTPUT UNTIL THE VOLTAGE GETS AROUND 3.6. THEN THE OUTPUT WILL DECLINE STEADILY DOWN TO ABOUT 3 VOLTS WHERE IT WILL BLINK.

THESE ARE NOT DESIGNED TO RUN ON 1 PRIMARY CELL.

While experimenting, I found that you can get these to light up with a single primary cell. (approx 3 volts)
It will pull about 400mA from a fresh cr123, and is reasonably bright.

when you get much lower than 3 volts, the 3 mode drivers will blink.

The single mode driver may run into very low voltage, but I don't have one to play with right now.
