I am trying to use AA C and D adapters in my Mags. It is the single AA to single C/D adapter. Problem is the baser of the AA is not wide enough to make contact with Mag springs. I was lookin for something I could add on to make it work? I found a small spring and screwed it on the mag spring and that worked. Any source for small springs or other ideas?

I thought you where actually selling Mag springs :ohgeez:...

Have you tried Radio Shack or Home Depot?? The search function is dead, but in the Homade / Modified section someone must have tackled this already.

There are two extremely easy solutions to this. I use both.
  1. Cut a circular piece of copper or other electrically 'good' metal plate and just rest that on the end of the last cell before putting the tailcap back on. Lots of variations on this if you want to solder it to the spring etc.
  2. Use your big plumbers wrench/big pair of pliers to make the top of the spring smaller in diameter.

Similar to Stephan's suggestion, I use my vice to squeeze the end of the spring sqeeezing and rotating until I have the shape I want. Make sure you grind of any sharp edges.

I thought you were selling springs too.

KD sells a golden shorty spring that has a tight winding in the center for smaller cells. It's also gold plated for lower resistance and a bit shorter than stock.

Golden Shorty Spring

I have no opinion on these until mine arrives.

i do.

the spring isn't quite small to make a contact. when you squeeze that with pliers the coating chips off.
also the spring is softer so i noticed more noise in a 3d compared to a stock spring. a 1d is fine without noise.

Maybe a washer with a rivet in the center?Put what should be the outside of the rivet against the battery.
