The choice between M30 vs M60 comes down primarily to output vs runtime. The M30 is designed for single cell operation and will draw more power from the cell, giving you more output. The M60 is designed for two cell operation and on a single cell will draw less power, giving you more runtime. The M60 is also compatible with a greater range of battery setups without risk to the module. So generally speaking:

The M30 is the better choice if you need maximum performance for as much of the discharge as possible.
This might include tactical or visibility applications (like bicycling)
The M60 is the better choice for emergency preparedness and applications where output is less important than staying lit.
I'm working to develop a way to show the difference in an experiential way. Perhaps both pointed at a wall and a time lapse every few minutes. In either case, Gene built my modules last week and yours (whichever you choose) should be ready for installation next week.This might include tactical or visibility applications (like bicycling)

Works great with a 18650 and I put in 2 rcr123's and no rattle!

We considered building/offering a 16mm tube to prevent rattles with smaller cells but found that the tension from the springs was enough to keep them quiet.

Hi Dan! Got my 18 mm 6P yesterday, nice job! Can't tell it didn't leave factory like that. AW's 18650-26 fits just right, and do not exit the front end thanks to that "lip".
