Ok, I've never touched or used a "C" Maglite before, so it will be a new experience.
I started out with a 2C maglite and wanted to make it a shorty. I figured the only way to do that was with a 26650. The barrel will be bored to approximately 27mm ID.

Here's a couple of photos of the work so far.

I have cut down the barrel using the human lathe method. Here's how it looks in the hand.

Here's just the barrel. The joint line is hidden by the head.

In order to get it short as possible, I am going with the tailcap switch again, only this time it will be a McClicky, due to lack of room for a Judco.

Yes I do mess things up... Frequently... Good thing Textured paint will cover it completely.

That's all for now. More later.

Ok, it ends up that this 1C is now spoken for, so I'm sending it off as soon as it's done. I decided to get rid of those ugly scars on the tailcap and did some cosmetic mods while I was at it.
Here's a couple photos:

A little time and some Greased Lightning, files, sandpaper, steel wool and polish produces quite a different look from what it was.
I have to wait for supplies next week, before finishing this one up.

Later.

I built a 2C mag for my brother recently. I opened up the inside for a single 26650 but used a spacer 'cause I did not have the guts to shorten it! After seeing some of your posts and others I got brave enough to experiment on an old DX light body. It turned out well so I think I might move up to the mag now. Thanks for inspiration Old-Lumens!

You are welcome. Thank you for trying it. I hope that by doing the videos and threads, others will try for themselves. Hand work is a lost art and people don't even realize what they are capable of. Personalization makes for a one of a kind light, that's unique to the owner.
I hope you continue to expirement.
