I'm not into lasers, so I don't know the feasibilty of this, but thought I'd at least post

that's awesome.. do you guys think a 100w laser could cut things over a considerable distance?

Yoy need a tightly focussed beam for metal cutting. 100W would do it if focussed down to 0.1mm or so.

I check that site out every couple of days. They link to how to's for amazing stuff... like how to create a foundry (melt metal) with a normal microwave oven. (that one was awhile back)
