Hey guys last night i took my D10 to the beach at night. I turn it on in front of my friends for the wow factor and then randomly decided to throw it in the air while it was on. With the right spin it is the coolest sight to see, you all should try it you wont regret. But there was one major problem, When i decide to turn it on strobed mode and throw it, every time it hit the sand, the mode changed to high. It happened several times. Any explanation?

I'm pretty sure what happened was the battery bounced inside the piston, compressing the negative spring and breaking contact with the positive contact in the head, just for a split second. The flashlight sees this as you loosening and tightening the head, so it turns on high. I have the same issue with my D20. If it's turned off, and I hit the bottom of the light, it turns itself on.

There's really no way to solve this, except if you could somehow attach a spring to the positive contact in the head without it shifting or falling off and shorting out to any other part of the head or piston. That way, the battery never loses contact and the light stays on in the mode that was selected.

Hope it helps!
