D10 SP Edition

I have decided to order a D10, and I have not found any reviews on the SP Edition. The SP Edition says it has a Cree XP-E R2. Is that the same as the R2 Edition? Also, is there really any reason not not to get the SP, if the SOS/strobe modes are "hidden"? I am looking forward to ordering one tonight. Thanks

The UI is completely different between the regular and SP editions. 4Sevens website describes the UI in detail, I suggest you start there.

I would recommend the original version (not SP). The UI of the SP totally negates the entire purpose of the piston drive system.

It sounds like the sos/strobe replaces the high/low shortcuts. Is this correct? If so, that is no good.

It's more than that. There is no ramping, it's just a basic multi-mode light, nothing special about it anymore. Might as well be a $15 DX special...

Why change a good thing.....i was also checking the SP's out but it seems sticking to the original would be better.

I guess I just assumed the SP ramped. I will order the D10 R2 from 47's. Thanks for the help, you guys are the best.
