This will be a noob question, so please forgive me.
I have an old Nitecore D10 Q5 (I believe). I already took it apart as I need to replace the lens (chipped), so I was thinking of upgrading it with the XP-G R5. Seems as though a 16mm board will fit in there perfectly, as long as the emitter is centered on the board. A few questions:
1. Will the XP-G work fine with the stock driver? Will there be any overheating issues or anything? I plan on using some thermal paste.
2. Where should I get the emitter? I saw a 16mm board on DX,
** Moderated - DX link for SKU 44306 deleted - Kestrel **
Is there any person on the board or anyone in the US that sells what I'm looking for?
This will be my first attempt at modifying a flashlight. I already ordered a soldering station from http://www.circuitspecialists.com/.
Thanks,
- Jon
