DBS v2

Hi guys

I need some help here. I decided that i wanted to get one of these below but not sure which 1 to pick.

1. DBS V2 w/ DI Cree XR-E WC Q5
2. DBS V2 w/ 3SD Cree XR-E WC Q5
3. CL1H V3 3SD Cree XR-E WC Q5

In term of current which one does best and throw?

Basically i want the best throw.

Help me choose as ill make an order in a couple of days

If you want the best throw, DBS V2 w/ 3SD Cree XR-E WC Q5 and smooth reflector.

Some say the 1SD is a bit brighter, but I can't confirm that.

The DBS V2 is on my short list. But since I want to mount it on a weapon I'm leaning towards the 1SM-1 module

The CL1H sounds like a great light also but I have a few reservations concerning the PWM thing.

If you'd use a 1S in the CL1H there wouldn't be a PWM issue.

There's no PWM on high mode.

For best throw from your list, DBS with a 3SD and the smooth reflector. It should be visibly brighter and further throwing then the WF-600 but shouldn't be an overwhelming difference.

I just received the 3SD Q5 for my DBS V2.

These are the lux readings I got. I am using a Meterman LM631 Light Meter measured at 1 meter. I waited 2 minutes before taking the readings. I am using AW's Protected 18650.

DBS V2 3SD Cree XR-E DI Q5 SMO 18650 - 20,550 lux @ 1 meter

DBS V2 DI Cree XR-E DI Q5 SMO 18650 - 19,260 lux @ 1 meter

DBS V2 DI Cree XR-E DI WH R2 SMO 18650 - 20,121 lux @ 1 meter

DBS throws much better than the CL1H. 2/3SD pills are the brightest, because the DI pills apparently do not drive at a true 1.2A. So, like has been stated, the DBS v2 3SD Q5 (or R2 if you can get your hands on one) SM is the best choice for throw.

In lux @ 1m, the DBS is the furthest throwing LED - look no further I think WadeF said a while ago its beam spreads out less than the Raidfire Spear's, which is its only close competitor. WadeF - is this correct?

+1 I, too, am looking at the DBS V2 but w/ 1S. Looks like a great light and the colour is cool.

I have the CL1H v3.0 w/ 3SD module and the pwm is quite noticeable on the medium and low settings.

+1, the DBS V2 is a great light. And it throws like a monster. You'll be happy with it's giggle-inducing throw.

This is the case with my DBS V1 and V2 when compared to my raidfire. My Raidfire has a larger spot than the DBS. At 1 meter their LUX readings are closer, because the hot spots are so small they aren't much larger than the lux meter's sensor. When you get out to say 3 meters, my Raidfire has a larger spot, and the difference in LUX is greater, in the DBS's favor.

I think for the throwers, beam shots should be taken at 3 meters rather than 1 meter, so the beam has time to mature.

Hello KRS1.
I am a newbie but wanted to share this with you.
I received my new CL1H V3 3SD Cree XR-E WC Q5
1 week ago today.

I just received my new DBS V2 w/ 3SD Cree XR-E WC Q5
today.

If you want a light for throw then the DBS V2 w/ 3SD Cree XR-E WC Q5
with a smooth reflector is the one to buy. Hands down!!

I do not have light meters but I do not need them to see what this light can do. (I do appreciate all the light readings and graphs that users
submit here though.)

Basically you will be amazed with the throw of this light. I do not know exactly how many yards or meters for my testing but I can tell you that it lights up the tops of the trees at least 100+ yards from my backyard.
It has a tight spot and is downright awesome.
You won't be disappointed. I know I'm not!

Also, I do not notice any issues with what is called PWM on either light.
If it is there it must be either I do not notice it like other users have mentioned or my new lights are not like their lights.

Cant wait to order mine in a couple of days. I definitely get DBS V2 w/ 3SD Cree XR-E WC Q5 with smooth reflector.

I currently have a few collection of lights. WF 600 q5 ( love this light so much never regret a cent buying it).

Im so tempting to get RaidFire® SpearTM but i heard this light throw is not upto DBS v2. ( i only like the design look of this light )
