well i started researching led flashlights near 4 weeks ago . figured most i would spend was round $60 . after 4th week of reading every day , kinda getting hooked on these flashlights . unfortunatly that is going to mean more money :sigh: . decided i prefered a flashlight optimized for the 18650 battery . powering an awesome flashlight that i could use and show off . noone i know has anything like these . well that led me to the deree flashlight and have decided i am going to buy one . now its a matter of wich one . i can find lot of pics with the dbs with smooth reflector but none with the op reflector and thats the one i wanted to see most .
my uses for a flashlight would be used to walking at night with the family , would like to light something up real well up to around 300ft. and my last use would be to set at the back of a garage round 16ft back and use the light to finish garage door install likely with the op reflecter and mabey a diffuser . saw a thread somewhere of someone selling a great diffuser material . will have to search for it again .
or would a cl1h v3 q5 mabey do all those just fine ? any opinions greatly appreciated .
last question i looked at the deree site and it shows 2sd now . really was hopeing for 3sd but guess they dont sell it any more . anyways on to the question . i either want the dbs or cl1h but hopeing they run at 1.2a and not 1a?
thanks in advance , if any of my questions seem odd or i somehow missed a thread i could have used to answer any of these questions sorry in advance , still learning .

I haven't played with the DBS with the OP installed a whole lot, but when I put it in to do a beam shot I was very impressed with how clean the beam was. It maybe the cleanest beam I've seen out of the lights I have, and that's probably due to the larger OP reflector being able to do a better job of diffusing the light.

The CL1H with a Q5 3SD or 2SD will be very bright, and have great throw with the SMO reflector installed, 500 feet no problem, and it should faintly light things up at 700 feet, maybe a bit more.

I talked to Alan at Dereelight and it sounds like you can request a 2SD or 3SD, and they will be 1.2A, and they should have the noise problem solved.

Here are DBS beam shots, SMO and OP:

Also don't hesitate to PM Alan at Dereelight with questions. If you need something just ask and he'll let you know what he can do for you.

i sent an e-mail to dereelight under support . no reply yet so figured i would ask here . sent e-mail yesterday so figure might be to soon for a reply as holiday is here . should i ask for assistance in a different way or was support best way ?
if i can get either of those in 3 stage that would be awesome . one other question i can think of . as i am looking for flat regulation would 3 stage affect in any way the overall brightness in high mode or the run time as opposed to the 2 stage ?
after this last question i will have enough info to finally decide on wich one to buy . may end up later on when have more money , buying the second one and owning both . :grin2: getting to hooked on these thing . just cannot show the wife how much i pay . she would flip out :scowl:

You can ask questions in the DBS and CL1H threads on CPFMarketplace in the Manufacturer forum. Or you can try PM'ing Dereelight (Alan). If you look he usually responds to questions daily in his threads.

There should be no difference on high with the 2SD and 3SD. Some people just didn't like having 3-modes and wanted only 2, so Dereelight made a 2SD available.

According to Dereelight the digital pills are the brightest, brighter than the multi-power pill.

sure appreciate the help . i will look up the cpfplacemarket and check out the forums there . now all i have left is to think it over as to wich one i want .

For me I carry the CL1H more because it's smaller. They both have the same lumens, but the DBS will just produce a tighter beam and throw farther. If I had to use one for self defense, to hit someone over the head, I'd want the DBS. :)

I'm getting my Dad a DBS for Christmas because he would want it to spot things with, maybe when driving around the back roads to spot deer, etc.

It all depends on what range you think you'll be working at the most. The CL1H will cliip into your pants pocket, the DBS will fit in a larger pocket, like a jacket pocket, or you could get a holster for it, or of course just keep it in hand the whole time. :)

Maybe you'll end up with both like me. :) You could always let a family member use the extra one.
