Dereelight DBS aspherical lens

Hi,

I would first like to mention that this is my first post here on CPF. Long time lurker.

Ok, I just received a Dereelight DBS with the R5 led in it from flashlightconnection.com. Excellent service and speedy shipping.

However, I seem to have a problem. The aspherical lens that I received doesn't seem to take my pill. I read the instructions and it says that I need a pill holder, but this new light/aspherical lens head didn't come with a holder. Am I missing something? Was I supposed to receive one, or do I have to buy it separately or is the R5 pill not compatible with the Aspherical head?

Sorry if I didn't make any since....Just a little frustrated....Just spent $100+ dollars on a flashlight, and it's not working the way I thought it would.

The holder is inside the aspherical head assembly, and you have to disassemble it, install the pill and reassemble. Here are the instructions:

"To use, simply remove the head & neck assembly from your DBS or CL1H. Remove your existing pill. Disassemble the aspherical head and remove the pill holder using the two small holes to unscrew it from the head (comes out on the top side). Install your existing pill into the pill holder, and screw the pill holder back into the aspherical head. Install the asperhical head/pill assembly onto your DBS or CL1H body and tighten securely."

The fact that the pill holder was inside the Asperical Head solved the problem for me to. Dereelight is for CPF-certified users only, it demands some sort of "geekiness."

Thanks for the info guys, I have a DBS aspherical head and one of Vinn's special 4.2v 1.8a XR-E drop-ins on order (to fit to my CL1H V4 body). Now I have a better idea of how to assemble them all to make my very own LED "throw monster".

Any other hints that you think might be useful ?
