I recently gave away my TK 10 and will replace with the tk10, DBS, or a9. Are the latter two very much better throwers or lights in general?

Thanks for the counsel,
p

The DBS and A9 will out throw the TK10 and TK11. That doesn't make them better lights as the best light depends on what you want the light to do for you.

If you can provide details on what you want to do with the light, then we can give you better recommendations. :)

Wade,

Appreciate the response.

I am just wanting a great throwing larger light for the car/home.

The TK 10's advantage in brightness over the P2D (love the p2d's) seemed pretty insignificant, so I thought I'd look into similarly priced options for 2 cell lights.

Why might you prefer the Tk10 over the A9 and vice versa.

I was delighted with the TK10 but wanted to explore other favorites of similar size before I pull the trigger, and I had read the best thrower thread.

Thanks Again:duh2:

Then the answer is the DBS,and the question of what is best..well it's individual,I think the DBS is hard to beat at any level..and NO!! I get no free light from dereelight for this statement.

If you want a thrower, I like the DBS V2. I like that it is easy to take apart and upgrade, or re-configure. I like that is comes with a nice pocket clip and I can carry it comfortably in my cargo shorts, and even jeans if they aren't overly tight.

Dereelight mades drop-ins that are optimized for use with 18650's so you get flat regulation from an 18650 battery.

its a no contest, derry lead by miles, but if u want the best thrower at the same size as the tk11 u need the derry cl1h v4.
nothing beats that light, nothing:)

TK11 probably beats CL1H. Jetbeam Jet-III Pro is better as well even though OP reflector.

If you just want throw, the TK10 is around 7000 lux at 1 meter. The A9 is 21000 lux at 1 meter. The DBS is 29000 lux at 1 meter. The smooth reflector Dereelight drop-in(similar reflector to the TK10) at full focus can hit 10000 lux.

The DBS and A9 will also be larger then the TK10/TK11.

You are excellent salesmen, and I can't believe I am spending norht of $100 for a light!

From where would you recommend my getting the DBS V2?

thank you,

If the Dereelight DBS will deliver 29000 lux at 1 metre and a smooth reflector usually improves the output, why is a smooth reflector giving only a third of 29000 lux an advantage? Maybe I don't understand "at full focus"?

How perceptible is the difference between the 21000 lux of the A 9 and the 29000 of the DBS, do you think? I've got an A 9 and I really like it,but more is always gooder!

Drop-in for Dereelight CL1H not DBS. Smaller reflector = less throw.
