Some more things we need, if you can bring it just post it up:

liquid soap
papertowels
a battery powered radio
bug spray
2 large aluminum trays (to hold grilled food)
and a flashlight because it'll probably get dark on us:candle:

is anyone thats going in current possession of a Gotham by milky? i would GREATLY like to see it if so, i have been considering tracking down someone who is willing to part with one, but i would like to see one first, i think they are beautiful, (if you have one i'd be willing to do the dancing if it was donated to me:naughty🙂

so where i am from, if a cop flashes a light at you, you flash your hibeams/flashlight back to acknowledge everything is kosher, apparently in texas things are different, i ran into an LEO that is a member here but not attending the dallas/fort worth get together but is still a member of cpf, i was cuffed and charged with disorderly conduct even though i had a sober driver and had signaled the cop that i was good to go,

texas laws are different than michigan laws...i was cuffed for the first time in my life and my policy is if i SMELL hard liquor i won't drive, so i selected a sober driver, and they tried to charge me with drunk and disordrderly conduct after the yessirs and nosirs and only 2 rum and cokes...the fellow CPFer said he wasn't "that" into CPF and would not be attending the dallas get-together....disappointing...no loyaltly,

i know he had a job to do but he wouldn't even listen to my story and was more concerned with his own career progression than looking out for soldiers...obviously they couldn't charge me with anything as i passed the breathalizer but still refused to drive, but they still have my knife and honestly i made the right choices and did what i thought was right...and got punished for it...

first time in my life i have been cuffed...but then again i'm sure he hears a thousand excuses a day, but really i did nothing wrong, i ended up going free, but still the inconvience of it all while there is rape and robbery and drug abuse going on seemed like a waste of everyone's time....he said we were trying to evade him by pulling over less than 37 feet from where he signaled us (he was on foot, so evasion would have been easy) :sick2:

Yep, in Texas they would not have flashed him back and if he signaled them they would have ignored him "being on foot" and should they still get caught somehow, they would have denied they saw him signaling and he would have been forced to prove it somehow... " did he have a video running?"

We dont pull over for every bozo with a flashlight "in the dark" and unless they have Red and Blue lights in a marked car with a badge, they are still likely to be ignored.

I doubt that will ever happen to you again, Its never happened to me or anyone I know.

I guess you learned your lesson!......

P.S. We all honor you for your service! Too bad people have to be young and stupid first before they get to be old and wise!

I could set up some tables in my garage or something, but I'm 21mi. N of there. The pavilion is covered, but I don't know how much, and about the short walk from the parking. We could always wing it, and if it downpours, go to a restaurant or something.

I need to get a phone list together in case we move it indoors at the last minute. Please PM me your cell number.

Now your thinkin!... I was listening to the weather report last night.... nothing concrete, but a possibility of one of those scatterbarrel showers.

Yesterday, My dad got nothing and he lives about 3 miles from me.. I got dumped on and got an inch in about 15 minutes!

The pavilons are huge, we won't have any problems though it would suck if it rains. Wet grass tends to reflect or refract a portion of the light, making the effect less impressive. Looks awsome for green lasers though

Sounds like a good plan. I'm thinkin the pavilion will be ok by lookin at the pictures but it never hurts to have a backup plan.

I'll bring my 135mw dragon for that!

Too bad I still don't have my 425mw Herc.. I could put a lens on it and pop a balloon at 150Ft!

With the lens, I could beam it over towards my dads house thats several miles away and he would see a nice solid beam streaking over his house.


I do have a homemade red laser with a lens, but its only about 130mw too.

If your looking for a change of scenery, Veterans Park in Arlington would be a great choice.
It has large fields coupled with drastic changes in elevation. Me and my buds sometimes play disk golf there at night, so I know you can stay at the park as late as you want.
It has few pavilions, no need for reservations at night.

I took these pictures last November, it looks a lot nicer now that it still has all its foliage.

At North pavilion, the tree line in the far back center of the picture is ~800yds. There is a channel of threes and it continues on.
