My local computer store has started carrying a few brands of diamond heatsink paste. Has anyone tried this stuff and is it any better than Arctic Silver or other silver oxide based pastes?
Thanks for the link. Looking at those graphs it does seem that the diamond particle paste is only slightly better than silver oxide products. It was also encouraging to see that Arctic Silver Ceramique was only a degree worse in performance than regular Arctic Silver. I prefer Ceramique for it's reduced tendency to migrate.
I have been using the standard Arctic Alumina and when needed, I add to it some very fine diamond dust.
The reason I use this is to make sure that the heat sink and base of the emitter are electrically separated. The diamond dust does not pass current and gives that extra feeling of security.
