Did a battery change kill my Malkoff dropin?

Hi out there.
For many years my surefire C3 was fine with two 18500 1500mAh 1.7V.
Now I got two new, keeppower 18500 2000 mAh 3.7V 7.40Wh.
Was that to much power to it? Although I figured out they are a bit taller than the old ones..but fit (tight)
Is that the protection bonus?

The M60 still works fine with them, but the M61 has no good performance, I guess it is done.
Are there any experiences with these kind of batteries according Malkoff M60/M61 dropins?

THX and regards

Could just be a fit/contact issue. I'd test the drop in outside of the body by running wires directly from the batteries, that way you'll know for sure.
The mAh capacity rating isn't an issue (just means one has more capacity than the other). The important thing is the voltage and they're both 4.2V (3.7V nominal).

Swap old battery back in?
I did. Swapped batteries, bodys, tailcaps...not an effect on that issue. I do not know what it was, and Gene Malkoff could not figure out (off hands) what might have happened to the dropin. I sent pictures and explained and he meant it is over...don´t worry and yes warranty and yes, thanks a lot for that service!

So thanks again to all people concerned.
New M61 has arrived! Good thing.
Still I have kind of problems with these batteries.
As they are taller then normal. The fit in my bored C3 is very tight.
To get them out I need to open the head and use my finger frontwise.
I hope I will not have to change them in case of urgency...
