Didn\'t follow my own advice...
My Streamlight stinger of about 7 years sits on the charger all the time. I unplugged it to plug something else in.
I decided to try it a day later, still unplugged, and it was dim for about 5 seconds before going out.
So if the nicads won't hold a charge for more than a day it's time to replace them. I'm bad as they are the original batteries.
