Difference between 100w bulb and 35w HID?

My friend just purchased a 10 Million CP Cyclops that uses a 100w Phillips 4H bulb. Does anyone know how would this compare to my 35w Sam's Club HID?

35W HID has a more higher kelvin temp (the color of the beam isn't orangish like the Cyclops) and can throw much farther, is much more lighter and portable.

I remember when I first joined this forum, I was wondering why people would care how far they could throw their lights since they would mostly be broken. Now this "Noob Logic" followed seeing some posts or video of someone demonstrating I think the SF Beast by throwing it down the street....so it sort of made sense that this must be a test of reliability or something. Eventually, I figured out what throw really meant.

Before I became a "flashahohlic", I felt the same way. I simply didn't understand the same aspects of flashlights. After purchasing my first HID, I look at my flashlights in a whole new light (pun intended).

One of the lights in the following thread is a 10 MCP Thor.

The rest are 30 or 35 watt HID's.
You can see the difference for yourself.

All of the HID's put out much more light then the 10 MCP Thor and 3 of the HID's are significantly smaller.

The 35 watt Sams and the 6,000K Amondotech prototype are essentially the same light. Your Sams light will also run for around 60 minutes giving steady bright light. I believe the Thors will give about 40 minutes of continuously decreasing light output.

Take Care,
