Hi everyone

New to Mac's lights, don't know very much about them except I NEED ONE!

I'm having trouble deciding if I want the TRI-EDC or SST-50 version of the light. Which is the more favored and why? I'm looking for one that puts out a LOT of lumens, and has decent throw.

Thanks for your time!

If throw is what you want, I would suggest the xm-l. I may be wrong but I don't think the sst-50 version is available anymore. The tri-edc is an amazing light when it comes to flood.

Have both and loved them equally...SST-50 definitely have more throw and a more pronounced hotspot while the triple have a beautiful floody beam

Get the Tri-EDC. I have both, but for one, not a difficult choice, the Tri all day long.

Does Mac build the tri-edc with a triple xpe? I have an Oveready triple xpe neutral module and I just love the tighter beam pattern and tint. It's almost perfect and would be really nice on a tri-edc.

Yes, he does. But, it's a special request I believe.
