I know the freezing method will get the heads off Inovas, but has anyone taken the switch mechanism out of the tailcap? I've got an X0 that looks like there are plastic pegs holding onto the rear contact plate. I'm afraid that pushing in the wrong direction would have bad consequences. Any suggestions?

The Inova tailcap is pretty well designed such that if you want to get past that plastic plate, you will have to destroy at least part of it.

They sealed the joint with heat, so the plate is one piece with the underlying pins.

It is a beautifully done tailcap switch, highly engineered and robust. Why bother with it?

So I would have to shear off those black plastic pegs, after that it would be relativity easy to finish it off then?

The reason I want to get the switch out is so that I can have the whole light HA-Nat finished.
