Ok... I have an L4 which I love very much. I want a U2 badly, but I have heard problems with them have been happening for a while (tailcap problems, brightness level problems, donut hole problems,...). Do you still like yours? Is the U2 still worth getting?

Lifelong fan of the U2 here!

The only "real problems" were with the tailcap, which have been weeded out. The donut issue has been discussed elsewhere - I don't see it as a problem anymore. As far as brightness levels, what specifically were you thinking about that would constitute a problem?

Great light. I just acquired mine this past summer and it sees a lot of use. Tint is good even for outdoors, wide beam makes it an excellent utility light, and multiple levels that are selectable BEFORE turning on the light are great. Although many folks thought I would be wise to wait for an updated U2 to become available, I had had more than enough use from it to justify the purchase.

I still love and use my U2! Althought as the newer LEDs become brighter and more efficient, I do wish I could upgrade it.:sigh:

Mine rides in my truck all the time now. I really haven't found an overall more useful flashlight. So yes, I still like it.... a lot!

The U2 is still among my very best lights ... great interface and beam. This light is a winner, I love it, always have, always will.

It would be nice though to upgrade the LED eventually. Brightness-wise it is on par with the new LEDs ... but runtime is halved. Eventually ...

I liked the one that a friend of mine bought. It was such a cool little light, and it made me very jealous knowing that he had one and I didn't.....

... then a few days later he sent it back to SF for some reason and got his money back. And now I am now longer jealous, but I would love to own one.

:sssh:

I like them so much that I have two of them, the only problem is that one of them is still new in the box and I don't use it. Send me a PM if you're interested in buying a like new one but without the retail price. :)

It is one of the few things I have bought (flashlights or otherwise) that I really feel is nearly 100% perfect. I would have to start getting really superficial to find any design issues with the light.

A front pocket EDC it is not, but it is by far the best light I've found for almost every other use.
