Just got one of Brock's great creations but I'd like to remove the optic to clean it or leave it out for flood mode. Am I correct that this can be done? I've gone over it with my jewelers magnifying glasses and can't see how to get the optic out. I got some help from Brock on some other things with this new light but he's got more important things to do than play 20 questions with me so I don't want to keep bothering him withh all the newbie questions if someone can help me out here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif Thanks

matrix...
Here is the instructions from the BB that I have.
To run the flood mode.
Remove the head from the BlackBird body. Hold the area that is threaded and rotate the bezel counterclockwise. Simply drop the optic out.
Now there are two o rings on the BlackBird head, one is the main body seal and the other is a thinner seal just below the bezel. Remove the thinner seal that was just below the bezel. Install that o ring in the bezel(all the way)....
Then put one of the Poly lenses in the bezel(it will rest on the o ring) Screw the bezel back onto the head.

Hope this helps.

best strategy is to beg/borrow/find an NX-01 optic for your Blackbird. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks guys - Brock actually got back to me again and covered most of that but I think I may have gotten the order for the bezel/O-ring wrong if what mut explained above is correct. It did seem to work but I'll try it the way mut said. And I also tried a spare optic I had for a Longbow Micra - it seemed to be a little better than the smudged one that was in there and fit fine (it may be the same type). Yes - thanks cy - wasn't sure if that was a choice but I would like to find one of the NX-01's - seems funny something in so much demand isn't produced anymore. Too bad... Thanks again for the help!
