Hi,

I'm thinking of modding one of my HID lights with a DL-50 but want to know how well the bulb would fit. This pic was taken by Lips over on F-F.

On the DL-50 on the left it says "Phillips DL-50/740 CE Non Automotive" Does anyone know how wide the bulb is at this area?

Any measurements would be appreciated. -Thanks :)

The first bulb that looks like a 35 watt cannot be overdriven to 75 watts.

In the thin bulb, the outside edge of the return wire from center axis of the capsule is 5/16 of an inch. In the fat bulb, this distance is 3/8". You will need this minimum clearance in the reflector. Both bulbs have the same base.

Thanks for the information. That was very interesting to know. :)

B.T.W. do you happen to know the width of the base of the bulb?

-Thanks!
