Does it exist? (Yes, yet another 'help me find a light' thread... Uhhgg)

Ok, here's what I'm looking for, in order of importance:

1. 3 simple modes, and that's it! No programing, no ramping / infinate variable stuff, just 3 simple non-flashy modes. Low about 10 lumens, medium around 50-75, high 200+ (more the better).

2. Very easy simple to use UI with a clicky. Can also use some bezel / head turning to change modes if necessary.

3. Well built, durable, good reliable history.

4. Bezel down pocket clip so it can fit in my pocket for EDC.

5. Whatever batteries is fine, but the smaller the better overall.

6. The more flood the better.

Any ideas?

i know you said no programming, but honestly, if you just programmed the LF2XT, or got someone to program it for you, you'd be pretty close. somehow i think that neither of the 2 dealers we have would mind that request.

Dereelight CL1H V4 w/ 3SM Cree MC-E

Hey, that's a GREAT idea! I don't know why I didn't think of that. I EDC a CL1H v4 R2 1S right now, and have for about a year. Duhhhh!

It's absolutely NOT too big to EDC. In fact, I'm always taken back by how compact it is for all that it puts out.

Question however. The 3SM vs. the 3SD... I know the M can use 123A's AND li-ions, but the D can just use li-ions but is also driven at 1.2A instead of the M's 1.0A... right? Or did they update that? Is there ANY brightness difference between the 3SM and 3SD? Isn't there a newer module like the 3SM-2 or something? It's all pretty confusing to my little head.

Oh, and definately NOT liteflux... that's exactly the mess I don't want to deal with... the last thing I need is to figure out how to uninstall linux from my damn flashlight.

I don't even like my D10 because it is flaky with the ramping and it jumps from brightness to brightness when all I'm doing is holding the button for a momentary on. Sometimes less is more.

The 3SM vs 3SD differences you are thinking about only pertain to the single LED drop-ins and that was fixed a while ago. They're all 1.2A now.

The MC-E drop-in is another beast altogether and runs at 2.1A. You can feed it 2xCR123 or 2xRCR123. It won't light up on a single 18650. If you want more runtime and can handle a length increase, then get the 18500 extension so you can run 2x18500 or 3xCR123 (but not 3xRCR123).

When I go to order the MC-E off Dereelight's website, it says it's for DBS only. Where on their website can I get the MC-E pill for the CL1H?

This one is a perfect fit:

McGizmo Haiku.

Check. 3 modes, memory for last mode used, goes low-med-high. High is about 140 lumens out the front.

2. Very easy simple to use UI with a clicky. Can also use some bezel / head turning to change modes if necessary.

McClicky switch at the end, cycles through 3 modes. No bezel turning.
SF E-Series compatible for some nice modularity.

3. Well built, durable, good reliable history.

Titanium. Sapphire window. dat2zip driver.
McGizmo quality.

4. Bezel down pocket clip so it can fit in my pocket for EDC.

Bezel down ti clip, the beast one around.

5. Whatever batteries is fine, but the smaller the better overall.

1x123 form factor. Small.

6. The more flood the better.

The perfect beam of the Cree XR-E with the McR-17 custom reflector. Concentrated flood ram of light. Narrow beam angfle and bright flood with a large hotspot for a cool field of vision and less dynamic range in the beam, thus easier on the eyes and greater utility.

Kiessling:

Thanks, that's really awesome!

Now how much does that work of art cost?

I've always wondered where to buy McGizmo's lights. Does he have a website where he sells them?

I would have liked it to have 2x123A and be a bit brighter on high... maybe 220 out the front... but it isn't all that important.

I would first pm FlashCrazy or send him an email through his website to see if he can't help you out. If he has it in stock it'll be a lot quicker than waiting for delivery from HK.

It sets you back about $450 or so. Don sells those in "waves" in his forum (McGizmo forum) here on CPF. You can get them also on B/S/T.

2x123 is currently not an option with Don, sorry.

Thanks Toaster, I took your advice. You've been very helpful :)

Oh, only $450? Ok, I'll take 10! LOL Actually $450 is a fair price for his beautiful lights, but I'm think a $35 pill for my existing Dereelight might be more compatible with my wallet right now. Thanks for the suggestion though. What a gorgeous light indeed! :)

Yeah, I know it is not on the cheap side. But I had to post as finally someone was asking for a useful KISS interface :D and as the light is an almost perfect fit for what you asked for.

Shiningbeam has several different types of the MG brand. These appears to meet requirement 1-3 and 5. You'll have to check out 4 and 6 for your self. They're quite cheap, but appears to be good quality. Nothing fancy, but the combination of price and simple UI (three levels, no nonsense) caugth my attention.

Only trouble is the MG lights are so popular he's running out of stock all the time, and he has the irritating habit of removing the out-of-stock lights from his web site display. (No mentioning of "out of stock" or "will be in around october", just POF - sold out, web page gone. No link, no reference.). How can you possibly recommend a light that is there on tuesday, gone on wednesday? You'll find plenty of reviews here at CPF, though.
