Does the Surefire L2 & L4 still come with the Luxeon 5 emitter?

I've heard they recently updated the KL4 head with a Seoul, is this correct? Do they still call it the KL4? Or is it the KX4 now?

How about the L2?

Thanks
:D

The KL4 has been effectively replaced by the KX2C, at least as far as WeaponLights go - the M600A has been replaced by the M600C.
There are plenty of discussions regarding whether the KX2C is capable and suitable to be a replacement for the KL4 but that's a different question.

Ah yes, I saw one on a Scoutlight awhile back. I wasn't sure it was the KL4 replacement though, especially because it only comes in black and on the weaponlight as far as I can tell.

On SF's website I noticed they also list one in "Desert Sand Brown". I don't know if that means hard anodized or not.

The KL4 bezel was used on the M600A ScoutLight. This has been discontinued and replaced by the M600C ScoutLight (which uses the KX2C bezel).
The KX2C comes in Black HA, and in "Desert Sand Brown" HA. Both are Type III "Hard Anodised"
I'm not sure whether the KX2C comes in natural HA though. I don't believe so.

The L4 flashlight also features the KL4 bezel. This has not been updated AFAIK

I can't seem to find a picture of one in "Desert Sand Brown". I wonder if it looks a lot different than natural hard anodize.

The desert sand brown looks more like brown sand than the various shades of gray that natural HA is. I don't believe it's possible to mistake one for the other.

SureFire made up some M600A (KL4) ScoutLights in was described to me as FDE Flat Dark Earth. One was on SureFire's booth at SHOT Show 2008. I'm not aware of them being released though. Just another example of a side of SureFire we don't get to find out about very offer and even then, only glimpse at. The bespoke military side

Whether this is the same colour finish (I call it "dirt coloured") as what SureFire are calling "Desert Sand Brown" I don't know
