I think if I had a "Best buy" category, this would be in it. Same starting output (overall) as a Mag 3-D, but doesn't reach 50% output for 21 hours. A Mag 3-D hits 50% in one hour. An true 20x the runtime!!!!

Dorcy 3-D Luxeon

Enjoy!

Tempting, as I really want more C and D cell luxeon lights.

Looks very promising, except from my own experience with Dorcy lights I'm not exactly impressed with the build quality. I love the runtime, but I think I'll hold off until something with better build quality comes out.

357: If the Dorcy build quality gets to you, a Lightwave product may be more like what you want. Lightwave has a new Infiniton D1 see it here.

It's pretty much the exact same as the Dorcy, but pricier because of what sounds like a much sturdier construction; rubber coated aluminum. It even boasts the same runtime of ">20 hour runtime" so it's probably very similar in performance.

I'd definitely like to see a review of the Infiniton D1, and have it compared to the Dorcy 3D Luxeon.

Thanks, virus, for pointing out the Infiniton. I noticed that it's a regulated light, so it dies out to 2 lumens or so after 22-24 hours. It's twice the price, but looks like it's worth it. Its general shape is kind of odd looking though....

I was under the impression the Lightwave Infiniton used plastic frame with rubber grip? If it is metal, I'll buy it (better heatsink and I feel better feel than plastic).

Re: Dorcy 3-D Luxeon review - flashlightreviews.co

The Infiniton has an aluminum barrel with a rubber outer covering. I do not know if the bezel is aluminum or other metal.
My evaluation of the Infiniton C1 is right here if you're interested.

^Sounds very impressive. I'll consider possibly a D1 and C1. With the recoil led emitter, I gather its a thrower with no sidespill. How far does it throw? (if it has no sidespill, it better throw far to make up for that)...

I posted a topic in the LED or General Flashlight Discussion forum about the Infiniton D1 about 2 weeks ago when I first found out about it. Post in that topic about it if you like!
