which downboy (750/1000) would be suitable for driving a LuxV in a 3x123 configuration.... I read that it regulates current.. but how does one regulate the voltage as not to overdrive the Vf??? still a little confused.... I

Skillet here...

Both of those currents the Luxeon is rated to handle. The 750 will give longer runtimes but the 1000 will be brighter. Regulated means that it control the current to be bright througout the life of the batteries. You do not regulate the voltage the Luxeon does. You set the current and it sets brightness and Vf. Beyond 1000 mA will overdrive the Luxeon, however I do it all the time with Luxeon III's.

Well LuxIII with 1000 is less of a problem then LuxV and 1000... it will massively shorten the 500h runtime. (I assume you are using a white

how is it that the Lux III is better suited for 1000mA than a Lux V? I reckon my understanding in the differences in the III and V a lacking at best.. I wouldn't mind that explained as well... The more light... the less dark an all...
