DragonLasers or UltraLasers?

I've finally found two sites I think have pretty good deals on a decent powered laser for me to purchase. The first one I was looking at is the Viper Series 75mw model from DragonLasers. The second was the 100mw laser from Ultralasers.

Thinking about it makes it seem like ultralasers is the best deal, seeing at it's only ten or so dollars more expensive, does anyone have any experience with either company? Both lasers are right around my ideal budget, I'm just looking to get the best deal.

Nice comparison.

Don't know ultralasers so i had a quick look at their site, it is still under construction with sections such as "about" missing. Are their lasers a leadlight model? Leadlights are reasonable lasers.

I have a 125mW Viper from Dragonlasers that i'm more than happy with. Great beam, pops balloons by the dozen and leaves my house empty of matches.

You are interesting in the 75mW which based on their burning chart http://www.dragonlasers.com/viper (down the bottom) can't do all the burning stuff. Sure you don't something with more kick such as a 95 or 125mW?:devil:

While the 75mW one I want can't do all of the burning on the chart, I figured it was the best logical choice as to not overdo it with power, granted the 95mW version is only $50 more, I think the 75mW would be the best choice for me for now.

As it turns out Ultralasers seems to be the direct distributor of the lasers that Lew Fong(sp?) came across and was offering to us not too long ago... at least that's what I've gathered, I E-mailed Shawn who I'm assuming was the owner of the company as he was the only one with contact information on the site... I questioned him about quality, build, stuff like that so.. time will tell, since you can vouch for Dragonlasers though.. I'll probably go with them.

In the end, after every ones recommendations, what counts is that you get a kick butt laser that will not let you down, at a decent price so you can have fun.

Hi Steven,

You are right...the Shanghai Dahengs are from Shawn/Ultralasers. As you can tell from reading the eval thread, I like'em. One of the four that I sold here to the membership failed soon after delivery, but Shawn replaced it for him. There were mixed reviews from some members. Sorry I don't know about the dragonlasers...never had one. See the eval thread for the Shanghai Daheng DHL GB-100.
