Can you drive a Fatman with three nimh AAs into a K bin Luxeon? Or will this cause problems?

I have read the specs, and I am not sure if there is a slight voltage drop on the input voltage that would let this work. Fro example if the input voltage exceeds the output, then the voltage goes through a schottky diode to the output. So that should cause a voltage drop right?

Thanks for the help.

Should work just fine. You'll lose most of the dimming capability, since the battery voltage will be higher (for most of the runtime) than the dimmed Vf. If you don't need/want the dimming, then you'll be just fine.

A K bin at 700 - 1000mA with Fatman from 3 nimhs should give a pretty decent runtime.

Thanks George! This is my first time playing with the fatman, so I thought I would try the dimming. If it doesn't work, that is fine. I think I will be pretty happy with 1000mA. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks again.
