Dropped my T2

I was doing some informal nighttime beam comparisons with my T1, T2, T3, L2, and Q3 this evening (I've acquired all these lights within the last six weeks or so). I was in a residential construction area near my home, and I accidentally dropped my T2 onto a cement curb; it bounced from there into some gravel. Four-foot drop, and it hit head-first. The bezel is nicked a little and there's a tiny, tiny divot on the lens, but it's otherwise just fine. Great light.

I was intrigued by the minimal difference between the T1 and T2 in terms of throw; the T2 also has a slightly larger, brighter hot spot. The L2 seems comparable to the T2 in terms of throw (very subjective), but obviously has tons more fill. The T3 out-throws them all quite easily.

I was surprised how well the Q3 throws when it's dark enough.

The only two I have are a T2 and L2 right now and I did some distance comparisons tonight as well. I think it's a fascinating comparison - both dual-cell, one L1 spot, the other a L5 flood.

Just using specific targets (outdoor) and my own subjective impression of how well they were lighted, it was interesting to see how well the T2 did in terms of how quickly it caught up to the L2 as distance increased.

The L2 is a remarkable tool - for me the ergonomics are perfect (as long as I don't sit down) and the beam is a very nicely realized example of the potential of the L5. Mine doesn't make a peep either - since it was on backorder, maybe it's from a new production run and they fixed it. Or maybe my hearing sucks even worse than I thought.

My L2 whines just a little on low, but the environment must be very quiet for me to hear it.

My T1 is my most recent acquisition, and I was thinking at first that I might not really have a good use for it (T2 stays in my truck due to decent throw, long runtime and modest replacement cost; T3 and/or L2 go with on nighttime walks; Q3 is EDC). But after using the T1 last night, I think once I find a suitable holster, I might EDC it.

Those two lights more than a little interesting. I'd certainly like to know what Inova did or didn't do for the T2 to have 22% more output and over three times the runtime of its little brother dispite using only twice the number of batteries.
