Sorry that I'm not able to throw these two into the ring to duke it out but perhaps someone else (that has spent too much $$ on flashlights) can... which one blasts the best to push back the night?!

This would be great to know.

Also, just how much brighter is the UltraStinger than the SL35X?

The SL35X and 12PM have similar outputs but the SL35X lacks the beam quality of the 12PM.

The UltraStinger is brighter than the SL35X isn't it? I'm certain I read that on StreamLight's site.

U mean the throw or the lumens?? (500 lu)

That's a good point. Actually it would be nice to know both. Hope someone can lay it on us...

I was told by an unofficial source that the same bulb is used by the StreamLight SL35X and the SureFire 12PM N62 Lamp Module. 20W 6V or something.

The SL35X has a beam that can illuminate at longer range, but the beam of SureFire is so much better. It is also no designed to illuminate at such long range - more to flood the area with blinding quality light - a wall of light for closer range requirements.

The Extended Range TurboHead (3" diameter Reflector) produces a tighter beam for more intense longer range illumination... I know, I've got one.
If only I could get a 3" or larger reflector for the M6!
